Our capabilities include state of the art automation, turning, grinding, broaching, straightening, induction heat treat and tempering. We have experience with high volume machining of forgings, castings, and bar stock.
Our 30+ horizontal lathes include twin spindle machines, single spindle machines, manually loaded machines and robotically loaded machines. Most of our machines are loaded robotically which keeps the operator intervention to a minimum to ensure a consistent process.
We mainly use Fanuc robots for our applications, however, we have ABB and Motoman (Yaskawa) robots in house as well and are familiar with the controls for all three. We have experienced staff on all 3 shifts to program and manipulate robots as needed. Our automation and integration is primarily performed by our in house Engineering and Automation group.
We have spline rollers that vary in size from 24”, 36” to 48”. We integrate our spline rollers with our machining cells to be loaded and unloaded with robotics improving both our Quality & throughput.
Induction Heat Treat and Tempering
We have several dual spindle automated induction Heat Treat units that are integrated to the tempering operations and are loaded and unloaded with robotics. These units have in-line part verification and robust mistake-proofing features. Our Heat Treat area includes all equipment necessary to perform full metallurgical evaluations to ensure we are compliant with our customers requirements and CQI-9 standards.
For parts that require a precision grinding operation, we have OD grinders equipped with real time process monitoring and robotic loading and unloading.
Straightening & Broaching
For any of our longer shafts that require straightening, we post process through our straighteners. We have both manual and automatic straightening capabilities. We also have the capabilities of broaching in house.
Face & Centering
We have several machines to perform face & centering operations as well. Our machines are capable of handling up to a 50” axle shaft.
